There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! We went to a karaoke club and chatted with Blood Of The Phoenix.
1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Blood of the Phoenix (BOTP)'s sound is best described as a love letter to 2000's era metalcore with a healthy dose of pop-punk and elements of djent & hardcore sprinkled in.
2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
There are far too many to mention but a definite standout moment was playing Colton (Paramnesia; Nameless King; Thousand Arrows; Death Preacher)'s birthday show in 2021 and seeing him use his singer from Nameless King (I think) as a baseball bat in the pit while we played - he later apologized but it was awesome, ngl. That whole show was definitely a highlight in our journey so far. 3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
Hard to name one but super into Truent & Living Machines lately.
4: What's coming up for you?
We are currently in the middle of recording new music and have been delayed a bit but still on track for our roadmap. Like almost everything with this project, it's been a journey. We hope to share some releases in the new year - just gotta get through some life hurdles before getting back in the studio and wrapping things up.
5: Where can people find you? What are your social media links?
