There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! We traveled to an underground beauty salon and had a few words with the amazing Emerald Osagie. 1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
I would describe my sound as old school rnb but with a dash of today’s rnb and pop mixed together. I’d say no matter what song you listen to of mine, there’s this old school warmth in my voice that comes with it regardless of what the actual track sounds like!
2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
I love being downtown Vancouver and in the music scene! There’s so much going on and so many incredibly talented people. I think just getting to know people, going to events and interacting with new faces is always a fun time that leads to incredible memories! But! If I had to pin point a favourite memory so far, it would be performing at Guilt & Co downtown Vancouver.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
It’s hard to choose just one when there are so many talented people in Vancouver. But I’ve been listening to Kora Leith for ages who also happens to be one of my best friends! She has incredible music and deserve all the flowers.
4: Whats coming up for you?
I am working on putting out a single and working on an EP that will be out very soon! I’ve also got a couple performances lined up as well! Which I cant say too much about hahah
