There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! We met at a death metal yoga class and chatted with Nameless King. 1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
We like to call ourselves melodic death metal but it seems some other people disagree, we've been described as everything from melodic death, deathcore, progressive death, pure death metal, and even someone called us black metal at one point for some reason which we're still confused about. We take heavy inspiration from bands like At The Gates, Mors Principium Est, Arch Enemy, Nevermore, etc. 2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
We haven't been a band for all too long, having only formed in 2019. We had a bunch of shows lined for late spring/early summer of 2020 and we all know how that went. We finally got to have our official debut in December of 2021 and to say it felt good would be an understatement. This past summer we also got the chance to play as part of the Midweek Mosh concert series at The Railway, which was our first headlining show. We don't see ourselves as a headliner caliber band at all so we were a bit unsure about it, but seeing the room stay packed for us on a dang Wednesday was a sight to behold. 3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
Truent without a doubt. We've been super close friends with them for a long time and it's so great seeing how far they've risen these past few years. Their new album is absolutely monumental, and we even consider them to be an influence to us musically. 4: Whats coming up for you?
Right now we're in the process of recording two new songs, as well as beginning work on hashing out a debut full length album. We have lots of new songs written, just gotta work on refining them. We're expecting/hoping to begin recording it at some point in 2023. 5: Where can people find you? What are your social media links?
