There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! We had a great chat with Showmance about their music! 1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Experimental electro clash. Sugary sweet vocals about sharing needles. We’re like a magic eye poster of a pop band… the longer you listen, the stranger it gets.
2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
Our show last week at the Roxy supporting Toronto-based Queens & Kings was definitely up there. All acts were tiptop and wholly unique. Overall a great experience playing in a room I feel we’ve all had forgettably memorable times at.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
One of our favourite bands of all time is The Psychic Alliance. They’re actually from Calgary but spent the better part of a decade based out of Vancouver and that’s where we encountered them. Truly, truly original and uniquely strange, which is something we always appreciate. Very sadly their incredible bass player Kyle Cheadle passed away from cancer last week, so if ever there was a time to explore their discography…
4: Whats coming up for you?
We’re planning to spend the holiday season recording our first full length LP “Bad Friends” - as we did last year recording our debut EP “French Hours”. A bunch of regional shows to follow and perhaps even a European tour 🤫
5: Where can people find you? What are your social media links?
