There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! Get ready to riot with Transistor Riot.
1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Transistor Riot is like a fun mix of punk noise and dance beats, with synthesizers. Transsexual ethos. 2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
Getting the opportunity to play Music Waste two years in a row has been really special, including making a unique music video for the online COVID edition of it. Trying to get a band off the ground during 2020 was also a huge hurdle. The past two years have had a lot of good memories becoming more and more confident and comfortable as a band. Also a lot of early memories attending shows at the Avant Garden and Red Gate. 3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
Well for one we have much love for our sister bands, Sixth Grade Softball and Pale North, we share members with each of them. Big fan of Kitty Prozac as well, Cathy has been a longtime friend and occasional collaborator. Currently digging the sound of Bleako's Nuclear Disco, Raw Nerve Endings, and Necking. 4: Whats coming up for you?
Currently, we're taking a bit of a break from shows so everyone can get some rest and vacation time. We'll be back with at least two shows in January 2023. We're also trying to take the downtime to get some more writing done. We're really excited for whatever form our music takes in the future.
5: Where can people find you? What are your social media links?
