Support the Scene is back and ready to introduce you to some of the amazing local talent we have here, and to reacquaint you with some of your favourites. We have such an incredible music scene here in the GVA, and there are so many amazing artists just waiting for you to check them out. So, after an intensely hot and busy summer, some of our talented local artists found time to answer a few of our questions.

Check out what Pistol Whip the Devil had to say!

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

We are Pistol Whip the Devil. We are a new country rock band out of Vancouver

that we are hailing as ‘ Redneck Rock and Roll ‘ . The sound is country style

music and lyrics but with heavier drums, guitars and big anthemic choruses..

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

Our biggest success has been the year 2024 – we went from local bars in 2023

to sharing big festival stages with Dallas Smith, The Recklaws, The Sheepdogs,

Jojo Mason, Tanner Adell and more! Summer 2024 was an incredible

experience, and we are excited for 2025, especially since releasing our new

Single – City with One Redlight – available now across all platforms.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

We have 5 players in the band, and we’ve all played a variety of different venues

across North America, but we must agree that we all owe a great deal to the one

and only Roxy Cabaret here in Vancouver. They have always supported us

across all of our musical endeavours, and it’s just a fun place to dance, party, and

rock and roll.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

The best medium for music I would say for the fans is streaming, purely for the

access that fans and users have, and the global reach. Vinyl has a great sound,

but hard to find someone with a record player, Cassette was good and we all just

loved rewinding tape that got caught with a trusty pencil. Burning CD’s was the

birth of streaming but scratched so easily.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

Right now our favourite Local band in town is our boys Cache Creek. They just

released a new album ‘ A National Dream ‘ and fans of classic rock with a

modern hit should definitely check them out.

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

Next for our Music – is a show an October 25 th Show at Blue Light Studio, we are

releasing some music videos for our 2 tracks that are out, and heading into the

studio to record more tracks to be released in 2025. Check out

pistolwhipthedevil.com to stay on top of it.
