The Best In Vancouver competition is back this year, bigger than ever! We went to the husk of the burned-out Value Village and hung out with Garden Mice. 1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Others have compared Garden Mice to some Grunge adjacent 90's bands like Dinosaur Jr, Radiohead & Cake but funneled through the indie rock sensibilities of the Vancouver scene. It's a solo project but I try to put a whole lot of mustard into these songs.
2: How do you stand out from the other bands in this competition?
People who come to a Garden Mice show are often surprised by our stage presence, we do our best to be as physically entertaining as possible on stage. Also Garden Mice has quite a bit of music available online so there's a lot to listen to if you are into our sound.
3: Who is one of your favorite local bands?
Winona Forever & Kai Bravewood are huge inspirations for Garden Mice. Nothing but good things to say about both of them.
Rahaelmusic (solo artist) - we performed with her in one the Sofar Sounds concerts in Vancouver recently and we absolutely love her lyricism
