Hey music fans! We've got a special blog feature in store for you for the next little while. In addition to our regular posting, we're going to be featuring the bands that get to participate in this years Best in Vancouver!
What is "Best in Vancouver?" This is a yearly "battle of the bands" styled showcase of some of the incredibly local bands here in Vancouver. Live Acts is holding the events at The Roxy Cabaret this year, and we hope you'll check them out!
We got the chance to ask some of the artists a few questions about their thoughts on the event this year.
Here's what Leyline Riders had to say!
Q: What sound can people expect to hear when they walk into your performance?
It depends at what point in the show you walk in, most of our songs contain different parts ranging from psychedelic soundscapes to high-energy rhythms and riffs.
Q: What makes you stand out from the other bands in Vancouver?
Well, it's rather difficult to stand out admist a vast and varied music scene.... We just hope what we craft and what we think sounds cool, resonates with anyone who happens to stumble across our music. At the end of the day, passion for the craft is the main driving force and hopefully it comes across that we love what we make and we love to share it.
Q: What's one thing you wish you could tell a new fan listening to your music for the first time?
"Thanks!"
Q: Where can people find you (social media, etc.)?
We're currently working on getting a release under our belt. We've spent a lot time writing and refining songs as opposed to recording. For now, we have one of our live shows uploaded to YouTube. We also have an Instagram where you can keep up to date with our upcoming shows and any news relating to the band.Â
Q: Which prizes are you most excited for from the sponsors?
Every prize is appealing to us, however the one that would serve us best at the moment would be one of the recording prizes.Â
