Bullys Bash - Rusting Sun

Updated: Sep 24

Bullys in New West has been a godsend for the music scene in Vancouver. Putting on show after show with new and upcoming bands as well as sold-out bangers. They put on a two-day Canada Day bash and it was filled with awesome bands! We went laser tagging with Rusting Sun about their performance and their thoughts around the scene. 1) What sound can people expect to hear when they walk into your performance? We're an alternative folk-rock band with a melodic and dynamic sound. Our music weaves together stories drawn from lived experience in the realms of addiction, mental health, melancholy, love, and loss. Our members originate from Canada, the UK, and the Philippines, and we have a wide array of influences.

2) What is one of your favorite memories at Bullys? This is our first time playing there as a band, but we've been eager to get a spot there for a while! Our band members have attended shows and jammed there over the years, and we love the feeling of community the place has.

3) What's one thing you wish you could tell a new fan listening to your music for the first time? We're a new band on the scene, having formed a year ago. We just finished recording our first two singles with Flash Recording in East Vancouver and plan to release them over the coming months. We're a hard working band and are playing shows regularly around Metro Vancouver, and we're starting to bring our music to audiences further away from home. If you're a fan of artists like Ryan Adams, Thrice, Brian Fallon, Drive-By Truckers, Mike Ness, John Cougar, Tom Petty, and Pink Floyd, there's a good chance you'll like our stuff.

4) Where can people find you? Social media links?

Our new singles will be released on all major streaming platforms in the coming months, so stay tuned for those!
