Canadian Music Week is coming up and we had a chance to chat with some of the bands! We met up under the cover of night and chatted about her thoughts about Canadian Music Week!
1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
I would place my sound somewhere on the intersection of indie folk and indie pop—similar to artists like Noah Kahan, Maggie Rogers and The Lumineers. I’m a huge fan of meshing more organic sounds like acoustic guitar with the pads and synths you might find in pop.
2: What is your favourite part of Canadian Music Week?
This will be my first time at Canadian Music Week, so I’m really looking forward to heading back to Toronto to meet a ton of other emerging artists! My band and I got to showcase at BreakOut West last fall and had a blast, so I’m excited to see what CMW has in store for me.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
PLEASE do yourself a favour and check out Emmet Michael!
4: Whats coming up for you?
I released my debut full-length album, Turpentine, last September, so we’re going to be doing a lot of touring in 2023! We’re kicking things off with a little Alberta-BC tour in February, and then we’ll be doing a larger cross-Canada tour this summer.
5: Where can people find you? What are your social media links?
You can find me on all streaming platforms, or at my website, www.kaeleyjade.com. If you’d like to connect with me on my socials, hit me up @kaeley_jade on TikTok, Instagram, or whatever platform floats your boat!
