The world is filled with amazing artists with so much talent making fantastic art. It's such a treat when they come to Vancouver. This series of interviews is for insight into their thoughts as they pass through our beautiful city.
We chatted with Reuben And The Dark about their upcoming show at the Hollywood Theatre on Thursday, April 13th.
1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
A blend of alternative and folk music. Sometimes delicate. Sometimes anthemic.
2: Is there something you’ve heard about Vancouver that you wanna check out if you have time?
I think i just want to stare out at the ocean for a few hours.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands from your hometown?
We are touring with Clea Anaïs as our opener. A Calgary local.. but also my faves may be.. Chad Vangaalen and Preoccupations.
4: Whats a memorable tale from one of your shows?
Any time our drummer has locked himself in the back of our tour van. Ha. I remember playing Vancouver probably 15 years ago now, and the venue double booked us with a metal show. So.. we ended up playing to a venue full of metal fans just waiting for their bands to take stage. It was pretty funny. Horrible at the time.. but funny looking back at it.
