There are so many talented musicians in Vancouver and we wanted to highlight as many of them as we can! We went for high tea and chatted with the amazing group known as Non Sweet. 1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Our music is a fusion of Japanese and North American Pop. We have some songs with rock elements and others with electropop vibes. All of our songs are made in collaboration with our music producer in Japan.
2: One of your memories of being in the Vancouver music scene?
One of our favourite memories has got to be performing at the Granville Promenade last summer. It's a music festival with multiple stages along Granville street that focuses on supporting local music. The crowd was totally into our performance, despite it being full of people who had never heard J-pop before. It was such a cool and unique event to be a part of.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
It's really hard to pick one band since each of us have our own favourites but it includes Raincity, Club Sofa, Babe Corner and Rocky and the Gems.
4: What's coming up for you?
We have a new single coming on November 25th called "By Your Side". It's a song inspired by our own experience of forming the band and we hope it can encourage girls to band together (like we did) and support each other during times of hardship.
