Vancouver Metal has always thrived, no matter what. No matter how many venues we lose. Journeyman Productions have Vancouver's Premiere Metal Festivals. Get excited to see some fantastic bands on April 13th, 14th and 15th.
One of the amazing bands to grace the upcoming festival is Judicator. We restrung an ancient grand piano as we spoke with the band about their upcoming show.
1: Describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you?
Our old stuff: Blind Guardian meets Running Wild
Our new stuff: Blind Guardian meets Protest the Hero
2: What separates you from other metal bands?
We're very focused on the storytelling aspect of things. Every one of our albums is a concept album, most of them based on historical figures and events. We've written albums about Napoleon Bonaparte, Frederick the Great, the 1st Crusade, and General Belisarius.
3: Who is one of your favourite local bands?
Seeing as how 4/5 of the band is located in Utah I'll say Visigoth is a safe bet.
4: What's a memorable tale from one of your shows?
During our 2016 U.S. tour, members of our band were big fans of WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan. Every night we would get the audience to do his signature "YES! YES! YES!" chant.
